THE REQUIREMENT

The goal of this assignment is to design and produce a coffee table book. The amount and kind of text and imagery in the book is up to you; however, the written and visual content should be original.

THE RESPONSE

I developed a short proposal and presentation for the project. Then I sketched a proposed pagination, before moving to InDesign to create an interesting coffee table book. The book is a 7.5x7.5” bound book, with photos of each of my class-mates’ favourite shoes. This required the scheduling of everyone to bring in their shoes for photographing, then doing studio photography.

DIRE STRAITS

I did not think ahead to how the photos would be used, so the photography could have been done more consistently to cause less time in Photoshop. The book works well as it was intended, to be a record of everyone in the cohort.
