THE CHALLENGE
This project imperative was to work for a second time with a group of clients across North America to produce the print program for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers professional association 2017 conference.

THE SOLUTION
I created a program based on the previous year's work, updating it mainly to reflect the new conference venue and content.

THE OUTCOME
I updated the program to include current scheduling and events, and created new advertising from sponsors, as well as input from the conference chairperson and paper submission content and author information.

SKILLS-BASED OUTCOMES
RESEARCH

I found that one of the most compelling parts of the project was working with a different group of people than the previous year. I found it interesting working with a new set of group dynamics and expectations.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE:
I intentionally organized the program so that the large amount of data was placed into logical sections, and I moved various forms of data input to make them conform to a standard layout.

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
I included a compelling section of  localized information for the Madison, Wisconsin area, meant to generate interest in more than just the conference, and to give attendees a better feel for the area they are visiting.

This conference is an annual event, and the intent is to continue contributing to the design and maintenance of this program in subsequent years.

PERSONAL INFORMANTS

TRAVEL
I was able to use my travel experiences to write a compelling section of interesting attractions in the Wisconsin area.

EYE OF THE TIGER
I found that doing this two years in a row made it easier to get up and running with the project. The client requested that the layout remain similar to the past year, so using the same InDesign file as a template simplified the project.
